Azizi Life Rwanda

Transforming Livelihoods: The Impact of Azizi Life.

Azizi Life Rwanda is a socially responsible company that aims to make a positive impact on the communities it serves. The company was founded in 2008 as an initiative of the Christian nonprofit, Food for the Hungry to support artisan cooperatives in Rwanda.

Azizi Life saw the potential of these artisans and wanted to provide them with a platform to sell their goods and earn a sustainable income. The company serves as a bridge between these artisans and customers around the world, offering a range of high-quality and ethically-sourced products that are crafted by hand using local and natural materials.

Over the years, the company has expanded its reach and impact. In 2012, Azizi Life Experiences was launched, offering a range of day tours and experiences hosted by artisan partners in Rwanda. American volunteers established Azizi Life US in the same year, which serves as a 501(c)(3) organization, partnering with Azizi Life Rwanda to multiply their impact.

In 2016, Azizi Life launched a new local nonprofit organization, Azizi Life Impact, which offers a range of services to the artisan communities, including solar lamps, fuel-efficient stoves, and beekeeping programs. Profits from the company are also contributed back to Azizi Life Impact’s work.

The company has made significant progress over the years, with a major step forward being the handover of leadership to CEO Jeannine Umutoniwase and Chief Operating Officer Sheila Uwimana in 2016. The company has also launched an adult literacy program and Beeutiful Creations, a new company that offers honey, beeswax candles, and other natural products.

Azizi Life offers a range of products, including baskets, woven bowls, home décor, tabletop, woven jewelry, and bags.
