Entering Rwanda back in 2013, Lisa didn’t understand what a wonderful journey she’d be taking. It wasn’t just about the travel and the beautiful country, but how significant the opportunities would be as a designer. Working in interior design since 2000, Lisa’s work in Rwanda opened up to hotels, large apartment buildings, and commercial developments.
In 2017 she started her handbag line, Lisa b marler | Kigali. Focusing on a fusion of Rwandan influences with European quality, the result has been a unique line of accessories that combines elegance with practicality and exceptional quality. In 2020 the name changed to n’Intoki to represent the area and work done by the artisans.
n’Intoki handbags and home products are now sold in their store in Ubumwe House next to the Kigali Business Center, in Ruhengeri, online, and pop-ups in East Africa.
Made in Africa and Made in Rwanda mean something to our brand. We source our leather from South Africa, buy our brass and cow horns from Rwanda, and produce our bags with talented local, Rwandan artists. We are proud of the people, the work, the impact we are making, and the continued success of our company.
