Nyamurinda Coffee Growers Ltd is a company owned by two Rwandan sisters, namely Mukamana Immaculee and Nyiramana Francine, who fled to Kigali and later returned to the land of their parents after the genocide against the Tutsi in 1994. As the only survivors in their family, they manage their family’s farm in Nyamagabe (South). The company recently purchased an FT and RFA-certified coffee washing station in Karongi (West), where 364 farmers of the Karora Cooperative deliver cherries. Nyamurinda and Karora Coop staff were trained in organic fertilizer techniques and are looking to add organic certification in the years ahead.
